When we visited Maine, we took an excursion up the coast for about a day and a half. These pictures all come from a stretch on highway 1 between Rockport and Searsport, ME. In my estimation, this is beautiful coastline. I hope you enjoy the photo barrage.
When you visit Sears Point, a virtual island a mile out of Searsport attached to the mainland by a razor thin causeway road, you might expect to see some unusual foliage. On this remote island, we found ferns.
More Sears Point ferns.

Big breakers at Lincolnville...incidently, I loved this stop in the road along Route 1 on the Maine coast. It had exactly one lobster restaurant, one craft store and one local styled convenience store. On the bay side of the road, there was a bench to sit and watch the ferry.

Clever shot. The lobster house is just out of the picture on the left.
Boats with their dories wait for their masters. The tide is so radical that fishermen have to row out to their boats because they can't anchor their boats very close to shore due to the radical tides.
More ferry stuff.

To me, these flowers looked like asters, but what do I know. All I do know is that they were beautiful.
